The Two Things That Decide a Mississauga Install
The first is sky view, and in a city with this much vertical build it is genuinely unpredictable. A unit in a low-rise industrial block can have a better view of the satellite cone than a house in a leafy residential street with a tower two blocks north. Nobody can tell you from a postal code. We survey from the actual mounting position, and if the answer is that it will not perform, we say so before you have bought anything.
The second is what happens at the other end of the cable. On a commercial site the dish is the easy part; the value is in bringing that connection into the existing gateway or firewall properly, with failover configured and documented, so the network fails over on its own and whoever manages your IT can see how it is put together.
For condo residents there is a third: the condo corporation. Balcony mounting and anything penetrating the building envelope needs board approval, and a balcony's narrow one-directional view is often the limiting factor anyway. We will assess it honestly rather than sell you hardware that will not clear.

Does Starlink work in a built-up part of Mississauga?
It depends far more on what is directly above and north of you than on how urban the area feels. A low-rise unit in an industrial pocket near Dixie or Meadowvale often has an excellent sky view, while a townhome overshadowed by a tower two streets away can be marginal. There is no way to answer it from an address alone, which is why we do an obstruction survey from the actual mounting position before quoting.
Can you install it for a business as a backup line?
That is the majority of our commercial Starlink work in Mississauga. A retail unit that cannot process payments during an outage, or an office where a day offline costs real money, gets Starlink terminated into the existing gateway as a secondary WAN with automatic failover. We document the configuration so whoever manages your IT afterward knows exactly how it is wired.
I am in a condo. Can I get it installed on my balcony?
Technically it is often possible; contractually it usually depends on your condo corporation. Balcony rules, exterior alterations and anything penetrating the building envelope are governed by the corporation's declaration and rules, and a balcony also gives you a narrow, one-directional sky view that may not clear the satellite cone. We will assess the sky view honestly, but you need written approval from the board before we mount anything.
Can it be integrated into an existing rack or switch cabinet?
Yes. For offices we bring the Starlink WAN into the existing gateway or firewall rather than leaving a consumer router bridging awkwardly in the middle of a commercial network. Cabling is run and terminated to the same standard as the rest of the install, labelled at both ends, and the wall pass-through is weather-sealed to Ontario Electrical Code expectations.
How disruptive is the installation to a working office?
Most single-location installs are done inside a day, and the cutover to failover configuration is the only part that briefly touches the live network. We schedule that around your hours — early morning or after close — so nobody loses connectivity mid-shift. If the run is long or the roof access is complicated we will tell you up front rather than discovering it on the day.
